The hair raising open-air screening at Fjord Norway's Preikestolen celebrated the release of 'Mission Impossible 6'.

It takes a bunch of determined vikings to pull off something like this: On top of one of Norway's most famous landmarks - the 604 metre cliff tower of Preikestolen - fans came together to watch Tom Cruise (aka Ethan Hunt) scale the very same rock face that features in one of the most daring action scenes of our times.

Repeatedly named by tourist guidebooks as one of the world's most spectacular viewpoints, getting up to the Preikestolen requires a 2 hour climb... one-way! This certainly didn't deter the 2,000 fans who hiked up to the screening. And they were not dissapointed, as Tom Cruise greeted them on the big screen before the film started.

This last shot (© Grim Berge) gives a pretty good sense of scale...

Unfortunately, the organisers don't plan to turn this into an annual event at this point. We think this needs a petition!
