Austria: James Bond - Spectreice Q: Hoffler Clinic
12 minutes is all it takes to get from the Oetztal valley to the ice Q - a restaurant perched at the top of the Gaislachkogl mountain.
Location scouts had been searching the world over for an appropriate location for the Hoffler Clinic in James Bond Spectre. It's here that Bond meets psychiatrist Dr Madeleine Swann (Léa Seydoux). When they set eyes on the hyper-modern building set at 3048 metres above see level, they knew they'd found the perfect location. Filming the exterior scenes took place in January and February 2015, while the interior scenes were undertaken at London's Pinewood Studios.
If you arrive at the summit in good weather, the ice Q sparkles like a diamond in the alpine sun.
In winter, you will have to share the space with skiiers from all over Europe.
Opened in December 2012, the ice Q restaurant operates all year round. Pre-booking is highly recommended.
If you're just after a drink, or a coffee with a view, then head into the bar above the restaurant.
Certainly the most prominent visitors to date: Mr Bond, Daniel Craig himself and his acting colleagues Léa Seydoux and Dave Bautista. For Dave, it was his first time on a mountain.
The Hoffler Clinic has its first appearance in a flyover, when Bond looks out the window of a turboprop plane. In the next scene...
At the same time, Q (Ben Whishaw) is leaving the Hoffler Clinic via the cable car.
The tunnel between the Rettenbach and Tiefenbach glaciers, as well as the adjoining glacier road features the spectacular chase when Bond goes after Mr Hinx and his men in a turboprop plane to free Dr. Madeleine Swann. The road is nothing short of stunning and, at 2830 metres, it's the second highest paved road in Europe.
Shooting this sequence was very demanding and dangerous, as the stuntdrivers had to race along the icy road at over 100 kilometres per hour.
