South Africa: OutlanderStellenbosch University: Home of the Jamaican Governor
In Outlander Season 3, Episode 12: The Bakra, the new Jamaican Governor is throwing a ball and the guests pull up in horse carriages right in front of his mansion. This happens to be the main building of the Faculty of Theology of the Stellenbosch University in the Western Cape Province of South Africa.
All of the beautiful interior scenes of the mansion were actually filmed at Cape Town Film Studios.
Built in 1859, the faculty is a testiment to the Dutch architecture of the time. While the faculty grounds are generally open to the public, visitors are asked to report at the reception desk to access the building itself.
