Northern Ireland: Game of ThronesTollymore Forest: The Woods of Winterfell
Situated in the foothills of the Mourne Mountains, Tollymore Forest is home to an array of both local and exotic trees, including Californian giant redwoods. Another interesting fact: oak wood logged from the forest was used for the interior of the Titanic. Visitors can choose from four marked trails of varying lengths, which all originate from the main car park.

Key Scenes
The forest features in a number of scenes in Season 1, Episode 1: Winter is Coming. It was used as the haunted forest beyond the wall at the very beginning of Episode 1, when a scouting band of the Night's Watch are attacked by the White Walkers.

More notably, this is where Ned Stark, his sons Robb, Bran, Rickon, as well as Jon Snow and Theon Greyjoy come across a dead female direwolf and their surviving pups, which they decide to take to Winterfell.
